Do You Know Glassell Park?

Glassell Park is a large community in Northeast Los Angeles. The zip is 90065 and it includes the neighborhoods of Verdugo Village and much desired Mt. Washington. It is a very diverse part of Los Angeles with many residents going back decades in their homes. It’s extremely commuter friendly for as a resident Realtor Consultant I get around easily. The 2, 5, 134 and 110 frwys are all nearby which is a big advantage.

The Glassell Park area has a cool history in how it all came about.

The land was originally part of Rancho San Rafael, granted in 1784 to Spanish army corporal José María Verdugo. Attorney Andrew Glassell received part of Rancho San Rafael from the lawsuit known as the Great Partition of 1871. Glassell eventually settled in the area with his family, for whom many streets, including Toland Way, Drew, Andrita and Marguarite Streets are named. The home values are quite in a very varied range today due to its size.

Housing is in short supply with only 56 homes for sale with a large price range from $162k all the way to $1.3 million. The highest priced homes are mostly in the Mt. Washington neighborhood with its views and park like setting.

The past 90 days has shown a total of 78 homes sold with a selling price range from $130k to $949k. As a local resident Realtor I can say that is one serious spread in pricing.
